For this Second Run of Ruthless - Peckham, all artists happen to base their work in the figure as a starting point for their paintings, sculptures and photography.

* The tram terminus & maintenance depot
* Opening up Peckham Rye station
* Reviving Rye Lane & Peckham High St

RUTHLESS - PECKHAM aims to create discussion by taking over available spaces allowing selected artists to test their work to a wide range of public.

The organisers and paticipating artists of RUTHLESS maintain studios in the Copeland Industrial Estate, off Peckham Rye Lane. The space itsself is under threat to be adquired forcebly by Transport For London to make way for the depo of the Camdem - Peckham link of the Cross River Tram.

Their source of inspiration goes beyond the eclectic and lively neirbourhood. They find the area inspiring as well as chllenging at times. RUTHLESS as a name comes from the hard - earned knowledge of the difficulties embedded in the choice of being an artist.

The first event and its private view were a great success. More than 300 people attended the opening night alone.
