|Untitled. 300m of white cotton cloth. 2005-06.|
My work is concerned with
the sculpted form/space that stems from the organic and the wild.
I am interested in intimate dwellings that shelter the unseen.
I work from a need to make knots and out of this process of tying,
wrapping and binding an instinct to create nests.
It is mostly through drawing that I render these counter-places visible but I see these drawings as preliminary visuals for large scale sculptures. I believe through the physical making of these habitats the viewer would encounter these unknown spaces, imagine the gestures, movement and time deposited into every intricate detail and envisage the creature housed within its chambers.
