The Ernst Reuther Platz Tils

Berlin in 1998 realised it had not enough money to run and maintatin its fountains. Berlin has several. Just Rome is said to have more. The lack of moneywas upsetting even the son of the former mayor of Berlin, this public space was named after. Helping hands came fro artists living in Berlin, who rescued and used the tils for artwork, this way saved a lot of the demolishing costs and by selling the artwork managed to fund the reconstruction of the fountain. NOIR & Bouchet Collaborations

Both artists are friends. They stood side-by-side to paint on the Westside of the wall "protecting" the former German Democratic Republic, GDR. They also collaborated in this unique series of paintings produced on 4 equal size canvases, which can be arranged in variety of ways to reveal different expressions of the ideal.
