Since early age he was taught by his father
how to use a camera and how to get the most out of a motive,
learning to take stunning photos. "Sometimes you have to
go one step back or move to the side in order to get the best
results", he remembers his dad telling him. Then taking
photos was still an expensive hobby.
In the 80s he became a radio journalist and was
contributing for some major radio stations in Europe: the Bavarian
State Radio Munich (Bayerischer Rundfunk), DeutschlandRadio Berlin
(including the former and original American Radio in Berlin -
RIAS Berlin), Vienna'a public broadcaster ORF and within the
BBC amongst others.
He joined the World tour of "A Chorus
Line", which left a immense impact on his life. This touring
the musical was a unique production, bringing together on stage
for one season only the original artists, Michael Bennett based
this masterpiece on. Kay Cole´s "Never give up in
the fate of dancers!" left a huge impact on his future career
and life.
Dancing, of course, privately, but also
economically between the borders given. However diverse and difficult
an artist might be everybody has its chance! He grew into artist
promotion and consulting, never really considering himself an
artist .
"My own artwork?
. Can be seen
in presenting others." He created Artbuy in the nineties,
and the later concept what was to become the Artbust of today.
He doesn't consider himself an artist. What's an artist? "I
am creative. I am a creative designer with the eye and ear for
the market or customer and a clear understanding for artists'
needs. It seems that I am always creating "new stuff"
by accident. I am wilful."

"Berlin in Motion"
a montage, which won the recognition
of Russian art professor Gaga, and an invitation to his summer
camp master class in St.Petersburg in 1999. |
From the early stages of digital photography he
jumped the band wagon. One of his first digital photos edited
won him some recognition at the St. Petersburg art university
were he was invited to join the master class in digital artwork.
At this time he made his living as journalist and as web producer.
Hotflash.net was one of his first artistic online babies, trying
to establish online photo journalism long before time was ripe.
Photos journalism became a daily business. His colleagues were
still looking upon him in the press conferences, which they attended
with bags of cameras and equipment. Alacran just had a little
digital camera in his hands.
In 2003 he agreed for the first time to
make many of his photos public under the alias - now Alacan |
